RESULTS

1. Mapping of Industry, Good Practices & Educational material

It will allow the partners to explore the VET trainers’ skills and the general context of the logistics industry. Also, partners will study the competences that the target group skills to have. In other words, the partnership will provide the basis for the implementation & completion of all upcoming work packages, since it will provide all the necessary information for their successful development.
More in detail, it will be focused on the project’s first & second results, namely the specific needs assessment and development of good practices report on logistics industry needs for sustainability in the last mile in the EU. Based on this report, the educational material (R2) for the VET logistics trainers will be designed at a later stage of the project. In this
respect, this WP will guarantee the high impact of the project, since it will allow the partners to have the first approach with the VET educators.

2. Serious Game

The ECOmile Serious Game is the project’s main digital tool. It will provide all target groups and external stakeholders with a common online platform that they will use to get trained in an interactive and fun way. The users will be able to obtain knowledge and practical experience related to the issues addressed by the project (last mile logistics) and learn new
methods on how to better handle the footprint of the last mile. The Serious Game will be divided in two sections: one for the VET trainers and one for trainees/logistics providers. By designing these two sections, VET trainers will be able to test the game and use it in the future during their training sessions with logistics providers.

3. Online Space And Piloting

It is an online platform that will serve as an e-learning space, hosting the serious game and the learning material. The platform will function as an information repository and networking community tool, promoting the principles of sustainable transformation of the last mile of logistics in the EU. In particular, the platform will be the space where the training material, video modules, articles and the serious game will be hosted. It will provide a wide range of authoring tools to make the learning process easier and more entertaining (discussion forum), it will host the online modules and, most importantly, it will act as a portal where VET logistics trainers can access materials, find the latest tools and tips that could facilitate them in their training process. In this respect, the platform will contribute in reaching the overall ECOMile vision.
The ECOMile Open learning space will be organised in a very user-friendly way and designed to help VET educators and professionals of logistics to gain new understanding about the importance of sustainable green transformation of last mile logistics. It will host the educational material and the research findings, including a methodology on how to design
intervention contexts based on best practices.
