ECOmile – Sustainability in Last Mile Logistics: Training VET Trainers and Logistics – is an innovative European project funded under the Erasmus+ programme (project number: 2024-1-ES01-KA220-VET-000244098). The project addresses the urgent need for ecological solutions in the so-called “last mile” of delivery—the most polluting and resource-intensive stage of the supply chain. Six partner organizations from five countries have joined forces with a shared mission: to promote sustainability in last-mile logistics through interactive educational solutions and digital technologies.

What is the "Last Mile" and Why is it Important?
The “last mile” represents the final stage of product delivery to the end customer—often the least efficient and most expensive part of the entire logistics chain. This process generates significant carbon emissions, especially in densely populated urban areas, while also being a key factor for customer experience and business profitability.
In the context of the European Green Deal and growing climate challenges, ECOmile offers a practical approach to the green transformation of the logistics sector through education and digital tools.
Innovative Educational Tools
A core component of the project is the development of an interactive Serious game that simulates real-life logistics scenarios. This game will allow trainees to test and improve sustainable urban logistics solutions in a risk-free environment.
In addition, ECOmile will create an Online learning platform with comprehensive courses and resources available to vocational education institutions, companies, and individual professionals across Europe.
Education is the key to transforming the logistics sector. Through ECOmile, we are preparing a new generation of professionals equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to implement sustainable practices in daily logistics operations.
International Cooperation
The project brings together the efforts of six organizations from five countries with proven expertise in education, logistics, and digital technologies:
- GDoce (Spain) – Coordinator
- RMR (Greece)
- CRADLE (Greece)
- Boreal (France)
- Mag P&P (Austria)
- BLA (Bulgaria)
This partnership ensures that the developed solutions will meet the needs of different European markets and educational systems.
