Vigo, Spain – April 28–29, 2025
The first transnational meeting of the ECOmile project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme (Project No: 2024-1-ES01-KA220-VET-000244098), was held on April 28–29 in Vigo, Spain. The project aims to revolutionize vocational education in sustainable last-mile logistics through cutting-edge educational tools including a serious game and comprehensive online training platform.

Project Partners
The meeting was hosted by the Spanish organization GDoce, which welcomed the project partners: RMR and CRADLE from Greece; Boreal from France; Mag P&P from Austria; and BLA from Bulgaria. Together, they represent a powerful collaboration of expertise spanning education, logistics, sustainability, and digital innovation.
Key Highlights of the Meeting
The agenda included an introduction to the project, its guiding principles, and discussions on the main activities structured into five key work packages (WPs):
- WP1 – Project Management (Leader: GDOCE)
Focusing on coordination, quality assurance, and timeline adherence.
- WP2 – Industry Mapping, Best Practices and Development of Learning Materials (Leader: RMR, Co-leader: P&P)
Researching best practices and developing targeted educational content
- WP3 – Serious Game Development (Leader: Boreal, Co-leader: P&P)

- WP5 – Communication, Dissemination and Sustainability (Leaders: BLA and CRADLE)
Ensuring project visibility and long-term impact
Additionally, the partners discussed:
- Monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance, including GDPR compliance
- Preparation for focus groups and engagement of participants from the target group in upcoming activities
- Strategies for effective communication and increasing the project’s visibility at both local and European levels

United by Purpose - Resilience in Action
What could have derailed progress and success of the meeting — a 24-hour power outage — instead showcased the team’s resilience. The working atmosphere remained productive and inspiring. The partners finalized the WP2 research findings and continued their work, demonstrating exceptional professionalism, innovative thinking, and strong team spirit — values that lie at the core of ECOmile.
The meeting concluded with a clear outline of upcoming tasks, the formulation of ideas for promoting the project at both local and international levels, and the identification of strategies to maximise its impact on target groups. Deadlines were established, and responsibilities were allocated among team members according to their expertise. The partners expressed strong commitment to active collaboration and the achievement of meaningful results in the area of sustainable last-mile logistics.
What’s Next?
The next meeting was scheduled to review progress and address any emerging challenges in implementing the innovative solutions for greener urban delivery systems. The consortium will reconvene in Larissa, Greece on December 10-11, 2025, to evaluate progress and fine-tune upcoming activities. By then, the first milestones – including industry mapping and preliminary learning materials – will be completed.
This is just the beginning. The real impact will come when our educational innovations reach VET Trainers and professionals across Europe.
